What 60 percent cooler actually means in the cabin
Good film keeps a car's interior up to 60 percent cooler. In practice that is the difference between a steering wheel you can hold at 3pm in July and one you cannot, and an air conditioner that stops fighting the glass the whole drive.

The reason cheap tint has a bad reputation is dye. Dyed film fades, turns purple, and eventually lifts at the edges and bubbles across the middle. Once it goes, it has to be stripped before anything new can go on.
